I’m not really sure why people don’t like them, but taste doesn’t seem to be a popular reason. Usually it’s “allergies”, or people saying they don’t like them when they’ve never tried them. It could be a textural thing; I think the smooth, firm surface might put some people off. Glad to see you’re getting adventurous, though – good luck!
